Structured dresses
There is nothing more feminine and flattering than a structured silhouette, I say this with the deepest conviction.
There is nothing more flattering than a fitted top ending in a defined waist and continuing into a flared, or A-shaped bottom. It visually creates the perfect form for any body type. The best part about these styles is that they’re elegant and truly timeless, and can be worn for any occasion, ensuring you’ll look and feel your best.
I adore a structured silhouette, and it’s been my go-to lately (here’s an example). Typically, these dresses are made of thicker fabrics to help maintain those lines, though there are exceptions (like this dress).
The dress I’m wearing in these photos was a last year’s purchase from Banana Republic, and it’s no longer available, however, I found this dress that’s very similar in style (and sold out at least once!), as well as this one in denim. You could, however, find the exact dress on resale websites (I found it here with more listings in various sizes). FYI, it runs small — I’m a 4/6 right now and got it in size 6, and it’s still pretty tight (the fabric doesn’t have much of a stretch and is pretty heavy).
However, I was instantly smitten with it and have zero regrets about buying it. In fact, it’s one of my all-time favorite dresses — the color, the shape, the fabric, and even the fact that it has pockets make it a dress I feel incredible in. I only wish I bought it in black, too, as it would have been the perfect LBD. Alas…
I’ve worn it several times already and see myself reaching for it whenever I want to feel beautiful, because, yes, that’s how this dress makes me feel.
