It’s sandals season
Indeed it is!
Considering where I live and the levels the temperatures reach in the summer, sandals are a way of life for me. But not just any sandals.
I’ve said it many times before, I like pretty shoes. I refuse to wear Birkenstocks and the like, and I also refuse to wear flip-flops and jelly shoes. I won’t, however, judge if you do; after all, my motto is “wear what makes you happy.”
I think there are enough shoes out there that are comfortable and pretty, so I don’t have to sacrifice either, and above all, my style, which leans to feminine classic.
I generally prefer to wear sandals with a bit more coverage. However, I can readily admit that strappy sandals can be extremely sexy and sometimes, necessary. Certain occasions (like a wedding or a gala) and looks surely work better with sandals like these, for example.

While these platform sandals are higher than I’d like, I am really smitten with them. I also love these!
I have these Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandals, and they are the perfect shoes for events, and more. They’re comfortable, and they’re of the ideal height (for me). I wrote about them and the company in this post. *These sandals come in several height options if you’re looking for something different.
These sandals are another gorgeous option for any event, especially if you prefer a stiletto heel. I also shared more about them here.
Of course, I have to mention these sandals, which stole my heart. They are an investment, for sure, but also a true work of art! The details are crafted manually, so there are a lot of hours involved in perfecting them. They also come as a flat.
For more affordable options, I also have these woven sandals (in a higher heel from last year, seen here). These are somewhat similar, as well as these, and here is a flat option.
I also have these espadrille wedges, which are the easiest way to dress up and outfit, while keeping it somewhat casual. I’ve worn these a lot in the last 2-3 years since I got them, and they’ve held up nicely. I do avoid wearing them on rainy days as water can easily ruin them.
I’m eyeing these raffia platform sandals and these espadrilles.
