The denim dress
Denim dresses have come a long way, and some of the styles available now are simply irresistible. So much so that I ended up adding a few to my closet, with more still on my wishlist.
I initially resisted the idea, wondering how much use I’d get out of them. After all, denim dresses are, by design, heavier. But I gave in in the end, clearly.
It might not have been the wisest choice, given the prolonged and unbearably hot summer months here. But I regret nothing!
In fact, this specific denim dress came in very handy for an outing to the movies. We all know movie theatres tend to be freezing, but given the thicker fabric, the short sleeves covering my shoulders, and the midi style, I was comfortable enough in this dress. FYI, it runs small — I sized up to a medium.
Outfit details: dress (available in off-white in limited sizes; size up), shoes (TTS), sunglasses, the bag was a local find, but this one and this one are somewhat similar (and on sale).
Denim dresses are perfect for wearing on cooler days (or places). Right now, pair them with sandals (or your favorite shoes) and accessories to balance your look for day and night. In the fall, throw on a trench coat, boots or booties, and your outfit is ready in no time.
