Casual pants that aren't joggers or sweats

While we’ve already had several days of mid-summer-like temperatures here in Florida, we’re lucky to get a spring-weather day here and there, aka, a day with relatively low humidity, and temperatures that don’t reach the mid to high 80s, or even 90s. These are usually the days when I try to give dresses a break and wear my casual pants since jeans are simply too warm for me, and are now reserved strictly for the cold days.

While we have been focusing on comfort this past year, so has the fashion world, and so, more and more wide-leg pants have popped everywhere. I love these types of pants because they look chic, yet, aren’t restrictive. Depending on the style, some of them can even be worn at work, (especially if you have a more casual office setting), and of course, pretty much everywhere else. Styling them is easy, as they can be dressed up with a nice top, heels, or wedges (like espadrilles), or down, with a simple tee and sneakers, or flats, casual sandals, etc.

I’ve shared that I’m not someone who wears joggers or sweatpants, and if you too are not into, or have had enough of them after this past year, there are many options for casual pants that are just as comfortable, while they still look relaxed, but not too much, an example being the pants I’m wearing in these photos.

I bought these flowy, lightweight pants from H&M during our trip through Europe, while we were in Rome I believe, firstly, because they’re blue and white (DUH!), and also because I was looking for wide-leg pants, and I happened to come across these there. Because these pants definitely stand out, I kept the rest of my outfit simple by wearing a basic white tee, and loafers that are comfortable for walking, and, of course, a straw hat to protect me from the intense Florida sun (looks like it will have to be decommissioned soon, as it took a bath in the ocean one time, and got a little too floppy - otherwise, it’s a great hat!).

When it comes to casual pants that aren’t joggers or sweats, the good news is that they have elastic bands or adjustable ones, are made of breathable fabrics which provide comfort, and help with keeping cool, and of course, come with pockets - can’t go without those anymore, especially in pants. Most of these pants are neutral-enough to wear with any top you like, including a basic tee like these (that come in a set of three), a white short sleeve shirt like this, or this long-sleeve one here, or maybe this classic one.

Which pants would you wear?

Has it warmed up where you are?

Until next time.

xoxo,

Em
