Maxi dresses to transition into from summer to fall

The temperatures are hardly showing any signs of dropping to fall-like numbers, though I’m pretty sure many of us are now hoping and dreaming of cooler days.

We’ve mostly been staying at home these days, partly because we’ve been busy, partly because of the rain coming down hard right as we plan to head outside, but mostly because of the incessant heat and humidity - no signs of fall around here!

Oh, for those of you not living in Florida, I feel like I have to elaborate on that rain, well, thunderstorms to be exact… it’s been like clockwork lately - all sunny, and then in the afternoon, menacing clouds quickly cover the skies bringing downpours, a bit of wind, and a lot of lightning and thunder.

As much as I’ve come to love this rain (I used to hate rain when we lived in California), the lightning and thunder have been something else here lately… rolling and roaring as if the earth is going to break - seriously, it’s been feeling like we’re getting hit by one earthquake after another, that’s how strong they are.

Rain and thunder aside, for our brief outings lately, I’ve been reaching for maxi dresses a lot - they’re so effortless and make dressing a breeze, especially in these late summer days.

As I shared in this blog post, I’ve been loving the recent styles, and since maxi dresses are a wardrobe staple, I’ve put together a roundup of beautiful, from somewhat-fancy to more basic maxi dresses; most of them are great for transitioning from summer into early fall. And for that effortless not-ready-to-layer-up feeling, wear your maxi dresses with espadrilles, or slip-on slides (check here for neutral shoes that go with everything), and don’t forget to accessorize them with a pair of fun summer earrings.

Have a wonderful weekend, guys, and stay safe, especially those of you in Florida as we’re watching for yet another [possible] tropical storm!

Are you lucky enough to feel any signs of autumn yet?

Until next time.

xoxo,

Em
