Dress details and more eyelet dresses in this post.

I’ve been absent on here this week, and while I was thinking of not posting anything, I ultimately decided to share a few things that have either been on my mind these days and/or helped me get somewhat over my feelings.

I’ve been completely exhausted lately, mentally at first, and then having this exhaustion trickle to my body… I’ve felt uninspired, overwhelmed, and just not up to much. So much so that we ultimately canceled a fun day trip we’ve been looking forward to for months.

For reasons I will not touch upon here, I can’t completely ignore what’s happening in Ukraine, and the worry of further invasions and suffering has been on my mind constantly, even if I’ve been trying to brush it aside as much as possible. Having a war unfold on social media, and being exposed to its horrors everywhere I look, have definitely affected my wellbeing, especially my mental health.

I’ve been trying to “distract” myself with work, and other things with limited success. Apart from that, we’ve caught up on some TV shows.

These last two weeks, we’ve finally watched the shows everyone’s been talking about — Inventing Anna, and Squid Game. I can definitely see why people have been obsessed with both of them as they have the ability to pull you in, but ultimately, I didn’t love them as much. The arrogance and deceit portrayed in the former, and the extreme violence shown in the latter (not to mention the very depressing storylines) have left me furious. That’s not to say, however, that the shows aren’t well made, I’m just over the drama, and am craving more uplifting stories…

Well, speaking of another drama… The Blacklist is a show we’ve been watching for years and have been somewhat obsessed with. After the events in the previous season, and the somewhat lack of direction, I swore we were done with it, and I was convinced that the show was over, only to be blown away this new season, and surprisingly, find it more riveting. Somehow the producers managed to make it better, and more interesting, so if you haven’t watched it yet, definitely do.

Speaking of more uplifting shows, we started watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to satisfy the craving for something funny, and it’s been working, in case you’re looking for something funny, too. Update: The first season was funny… after, it just gets plain disgusting, and very problematic…

That’s about all the TV we can muster these days. I want to watch some of the Oscar-nominated movies, especially Spencer, but can’t bring myself to do so just yet. Have you watched it?

An interesting thing I’ve come across this week is this book that sounds like a useful and at the same time fun read. I’ve discovered it after reading this witty article that answers a question we might ask ourselves these days. I’ll definitely be purchasing this book as it wouldn’t hurt learning a few things about manners, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.

That’s about it from here. I hope you’re doing well and are taking care of yourselves, in spite of the circumstances.

P.S. In light of Women’s History Month, I will be highlighting all month-long Women-Owned businesses in my ShopLTK. Be sure to follow me there, and support them.
