5 things that bring me joy this week, vol. 148
You can check out the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here. It’s a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things—those small joys that make a difference in our daily lives.
How’s it going? I won’t give much of an introduction today, as there’s a lot going on below. But I hope you’re safe and sound and are taking care of yourselves.
And as I’m writing this, from the corner of my eye, I see lightning in the distance, and I won’t lie, I like it.
That said, here are the things bringing me joy this week:
the evening sky. This week so far, as we’ve had a break in the daily rainstorms, the evening sky has been turning these gorgeous colors. Every time I see it, it brings me comfort and a sense of peace, or hope… Hope is a better word. For the relatively short time it lasts, I pause to admire it and allow it to take me (in my mind) to better times and places. I recommend trying this.
this watch chain collar necklace and this cuff bracelet. I’ve had these in my cart for months, but I’ll be honest, I was waiting for better sales. This past weekend, I decided to finally place my order, and I can’t wait to receive these pieces!
finally purchasing this shirt dress in this other color. I’ve talked about wanting to buy this shirt dress I have in this other color for months now, and so I did it at last. I’ve worn the one I have a lot since I bought it, and each time, I think of how much I love it. At the time, the color options were limited, and when I saw the new ones added later on, I immediately fell for this deep-sea teal (I’m very into turquoise and sea/ocean blues this year). I tried to move on, but what can I say — I’m a weak person (when it comes to dresses I love). Anyway… It brings me joy, and so, I’ll own it.
creative endeavours. This past weekend, we dedicated time to doing creative things, and it truly brought me joy. I made a trinket dish out of real clay (my first one, so it’s totally imperfect and I still need to paint it somehow), made a few more beaded necklaces (yeah, I might be obsessed), and I also painted this wood leaf plant stand and this wood flower one in various colors. It was a very nice break for the mind, and I look forward to doing more of this.
changing the batteries on my watches. Yes, somehow, all my watches ended up with dead batteries. Today, out of all days, it hit me, and so I went “fixing” them all. Hopefully, I remember to actually wear them now, but taking care of that brought me a sense of joy and accomplishment! Go figure!
What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

Em
