5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

And to think that just last week I complained talked about being cold… The heat and humidity are back in Florida and, oh my, can you just go away already?! Like, it’s high time we get comfortable around here. Anyway…

It’s been a busy week (even if it’s only Wednesday) and I am exhausted and very much looking forward to the weekend. Especially as we have fun plans! What are you doing this weekend?

Till we get to it, here are this week’s highs:

  • the stack of books we came out of the library bookstore with… This past weekend, we went to the local library to renew our membership, and we came across their “new” bookstore. These are books donated by the community and sold by the library with the proceeds going to fund various library programs. It’s been a while since we stepped foot in our local libraries (though I’m an avid user, you could say), and were overjoyed to see various improvements, including offering laptops for use in the library for those who need them… Needless to say, we beelined for the bookstore, excited for what we’d find and eager to make our contributions. We came out with 6 books, some that were on our list, while others were new finds. We’ll be going back for more soon enough, I’m sure. Books just bring joy!

  • discovering even more incredible historical fiction novels. While putting together the list of books I read in October (okay, it’s not that big but it’s coming soon in my month-at-a-glance blog post), I kept getting recommendations for similar books and authors. Now my reading list is positively bursting (not that it wasn’t already), and I just can’t wait to dive into them… These novels have brought me so much joy lately!

  • good hair days. Or so I’ve been feeling since I cut my hair. It still brings me joy!

  • touring a “new to us” area. Because exploring new places always brings joy.

  • this double-sided belt. I came across it and decided to give it a try. Now that I received it, I love it so much that I’ll be getting it in the black/brown version as well. You get two belts in one, which saves space, especially for traveling.

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
