5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I hope you celebrate all love today, romantic and not. We’re not major Valentine’s Day people around here, so we’re keeping it low-key. We made seafood risotto with coconut cream instead of cheese/butter (I didn’t follow any recipe but I promise it was yummy), and enjoyed dinner at home. It’s the best way to celebrate, imo. In case you couldn’t tell, we’re absolute homebuddies in the evening…

Valentine’s Day aside, here’s what’s bringing me joy this week:

  • finding a special-to-me necklace I thought I had lost. I think we’ve all experienced the joy of finding a special something we thought we lost... I am generally careful with my stuff, but we moved several times in the last 1.5 years, so it’s not hard to imagine that I might have lost something in the midst of that. Once I realized that I hadn’t seen one of my special necklaces in a while, I frantically took apart our entire closet to find that it fell into a hidden corner. Oh, the joy!

  • this beautiful dress that’s just perfect for Spring. Wedding guest dress? Yes. Easter dress? Yes. What am I missing?

  • a few items I’m eyeing! Just waiting for a good sale, haha. I’ll be mum about the items until I can secure them, so, please excuse my secrecy for now.

  • finally making actual plans for something we’ve been wanting to do. Can’t wait!

  • getting my workout done even if I really didn’t feel like it today. I’ve been feeling especially tired this week thanks to not-so-great sleep, and I have been dragging my feet when it comes to a lot of things… I was already in my workout clothes when one voice in my head kept trying to find excuses for me to back out, while another voice was reminding me to stay on pace. The latter won, and as usual, getting it done actually brought me joy…

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
