The kitchen in our townhome is the largest one we’ve had so far. Because of COVID, we have been cooking and eating at home, every single day since March, and having a big kitchen sure helps with making that easy.

I love to cook and bake, and I wasn’t able to do the latter in our vacation rental, so I was super excited to have a large enough kitchen to allow me to experiment to my heart’s desire. We also have enough space to both be in the kitchen at the same time, as hubby and I sometimes cook together.

Because we have a good-sized island, we didn’t need any additional furniture in here, other than bar stools. As with the rest of our furniture, finding those wasn’t easy, especially when I wasn’t willing to pay hundreds for one bar stool.

I was eyeing some not too badly priced on Amazon, due to lack of better options, but I wasn’t blown away by them. They were covered with faux leather, and I just don’t like leather furniture. After our area rug delivery ordeal, I decided I wasn’t going to shop on Amazon for any home goods for a while. So I turned once again to Ikea. They weren’t what I had in mind at first, but after looking at them more carefully, I decided to go with these bar stools. I love them for the fact that they are light, foldable, and surprisingly comfortable. I did add these seat pads for extra comfort, as I now work from our kitchen island. I don’t regret the purchase.

I mentioned in my previous post that we brought some basics with us when we initially decided to visit Florida. Some of those basics were the ones needed in the kitchen like dishes (ours are by Currier and Ives blue and white china, in “Early Winter”), cutlery, etc., as I can’t imagine using the ones usually provided in vacation rentals. Because of that, we only had to buy a few essentials.

The most important and coveted purchase in our kitchen was our Ninja Blender (it’s currently only $69 guys!) as I love to make our own hummus, other dips, and smoothies.

A few other things I purchased for our kitchen are listed (exact and similar ones) in the collages above and below. As you can see, I continued the navy blue and white theme in there as well.

What are your must-have items in your kitchen?

Until next time.

xoxo,

Em
