Countryside views

Like many others, when I come across a beautiful field of flowers, I suddenly have the urgency to frolic among them.

Last summer, during our time abroad, we came across this untouched field on one of our walks in nature, while spending time in the country of Moldova. I remember that day perfectly… it was a hot one, but wanting to get away for a bit, we proceeded on a walk into the fields not too far from where we were staying.

We found them covered in blooms of immortelle (Xeranthemum annuum - in the photos below), and other wildflowers. I remember the sweet, delicate smell of the blooms, mixed with the dried-by-the-sun grass, as this gorgeous landscape was swayed by the gentle breeze - it was mesmerizing. I fully remember the feeling of peace overpowering me, as I took in this view.

We revisited this place about a month later, only to find most of the immortelle flowers grounded by the last torrential rains, and instead, found some blossoming thorns - just as good for taking a few pictures to freeze that moment in time. Have we given it a thought prior to getting there, this would have been the perfect spot for a picnic.

I hope these photos bring you some peace as well.

P.S. For details of my outfit, see this post.

I hope you enjoyed this virtual walk in the countryside.

Until next time.

xoxo,

Em
