Green for fall

This past week, fall has suddenly arrived in San Diego and it took me by surprise, especially when it comes to my wardrobe. This year, more than ever, I just want the warm weather to last forever - I don't like the cold and I don't like layers and layers of clothes.

It's no secret that I love wearing dresses, not only because of how feminine they are but also because of how easy an outfit they make. I got used to throwing a dress on and going about my day; I really feel my best and most comfortable when I wear a dress.

But, when it got cool this week and I had to cover up, I was suddenly left with no inspiration when it came to putting an outfit together. I swear I tried on half of my closet before I was satisfied with how I looked - it was one of those days when I needed a little extra something to make myself feel beautiful and comfortable - yes, we all have those days.

Thank God the weekend warmed up a bit, and I ended up wearing this now sold-out dress I found at Target with espadrilles, and a paper straw bag (similar here and here), but it got me thinking about how unprepared I am for the cold season.

We've had so much on our minds lately, that we haven't realized October is upon us, which means the year is close to coming to an end. And, honestly, I can't wait; me and hubby decided to take a leap of faith in 2019 - I will be sharing more details at the right time, but I can say that we both are very excited about what's to come.

I decided this year to skip the seasonal decorating and cut on shopping, in order to save money (and space), for a big trip we're planning. Planning a trip is a lot of work and is also overwhelming.
But cutting down on shopping means that I will have to get very creative with my closet and, in a way, I am excited - I like a good challenge.

Anyway, ladies, a bit about this dress - meet my first green piece of clothing EVER! Surprisingly, until I found this dress, green was missing from my closet. It's not because I don't like the color green, it's just that I wasn't finding the right shade or piece of clothing. At first, when I saw this dress, I was not loving the color, but the style was what drew me to it instantly. Later, I fell in love with the color as well and I can't wait to incorporate it more in my closet. There are so many beautiful shades of it and is such a great color for fall.

Do you like green? Also, do you struggle to style an outfit for cool weather?

Until next time.
