Out of all the things I am or not, it's very clear that I am a dress lover. There's one part of me that is too weak to resist a pretty dress. I've always leaned towards simple style, and when I say simple, I mean easy. We can all agree that the simplest style there can be is wearing a dress, and maybe that's why I love them so much.
I'm not sure when my obsession with dresses began, but from when I was a little girl, I vividly remember a pastel-green fit-and-flare dress that was my favorite and was so sad to grow out of.
I haven't always worn dresses. Throughout the years, I have tried to define my style, just like most women out there. Yet, I've always felt best in a dress. The last few years, I have embraced, without any reticence, this side of me and my closet has been filling with dresses.

However, when I buy a dress, I try to stick to a style, fabric or fit that would "serve" me for years to come. I found out that I don't quite feel the same in a shorter dress - I'm not as comfortable. I've been into maxi-dresses many years now but, lately, my style has been leaning towards midi-dress (see here, here and here). I find them to be much more elegant and feminine than any other length.
When it comes to dress types, I'm clearly a lover of the fit-and-flare style. Usually, fit and flare dresses look great on every body shape. However, I pay attention to the fabric; silky materials tend to easily show imperfections or accentuate things I might not what to bring to the spotlight.
I prefer fabrics that would allow the skin to breathe, like linen, cotton or a blend of both - especially in the summer, but I won't say no to a pretty dress just cause it's made of polyester.
This dress I'm wearing here is a last year find from H&M, and only now got to wear. The dress is no longer available so I linked for you a few that are just as pretty here, here, here, here and here. Shop my hat here and espadrilles here (run big - go half a size down).
Are you a dress lover like me?
Until next time.
