It's a known fact - we women are crazy about fashion. Clothes, shoes, accessories, the list is never-ending, and there's guaranteed something on that list at any given time. There's also this misconception that nice things must cost more but I have come to learn that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get quality and look good. Of course, this rule doesn't apply to everything, but it works for a lot of things.
I have, however, found so many affordable clothing items that have withstood time and trends and are with me 10 years later - yes I have clothes that are that old and still look like new and don't feel like they're from another "era".
I don't know of where you are, but in SoCal, summer is still going strong - a little too strong, if you ask me. It's been very hot and humid, which is uncharacteristic of the weather here. The only clothes I can wear these days are dresses; I've been wanting to style these cropped pants again, but I seriously can't stand wearing pants in the heat.
Because of this hot weather, our weekends have been low-key, usually somewhere inside, with A/C to keep us cool.
We went to Trader Joe's and I was pleasantly surprised to find fresh lavender, so I bought myself a few bunches - I love lavender. As I'm writing this, I can smell it, coming from the bedroom - I put some in there to help us sleep better; the heat has definitely been impacting my sleep.
When going out these days,
Out of all the things I am or not, it's very clear that I am a dress lover. There's one part of me that is too weak to resist a pretty dress. I've always leaned towards simple style, and when I say simple, I mean easy. We can all agree that the simplest style there can be is wearing a dress, and maybe that's why I love them so much.
I'm not sure when my obsession with dresses began, but from when I was a little girl, I vividly remember a pastel-green fit-and-flare dress that was my favorite and was so sad to grow out of.
I haven't always worn dresses. Throughout the years, I have tried to define my style, just like most women out there. Yet, I've always felt best in a dress. The last few years, I have embraced, without any reticence, this side of me and my closet has been filling with dresses.
