It's no secret the off-shoulder look has taken the fashion world by storm. Everywhere you look you see it - from dresses to shirts, to sweaters (the list does not end there).
After trying to resist it for a while, I gave in. Resist it why? Because I'm a bit modest and showing my shoulders fully was a bit intimidating - it still is, but I have to admit it's a delicate and nice look.
I first jumped in with dresses - I mean, you guys know I have a weakness for dresses and when I see a cute one, off-the-shoulders or not, I buy it.
Jumpsuits have been around for quite a while now, but I have never tried one on, until this one, not to mention, own one. But with so many, absolutely adorable options, I decided to get on the bandwagon. And I did.
I'm already a huge fan of maxi dresses, and technically, a jumpsuit is like a maxi dress in itself, without the option of having it blown in your face, or all over, at the sign of a breeze (yes, it has happened ?). Not to forget the part, where you literally have to jump in it, in order to put it on ?.
OK, but let's be serious, jumpsuits are comfortable and look very chic.
And I was lucky enough to find this one at Marshalls (anyone else obsessed with this store and its "sisters"?)
It's crazy how fashion tends to do a full circle, as far as trends go. Things that we were all rushing to get - and then - discard years ago, are now the new "in".
How many times have you "cleaned out" out your closet of things that were no longer trendy, to wonder, years later, why you did it. Let's take for example, vintage everything. People have thrown those away , seeking the modern, now to find that vintage is timeless and highly desired in fashion.
It is why, whenever I really like an item - as long as it's in good condition, I stick to it. Hoarding? Maybe, but boy am I happy when I can pull something unique in some way, from my closet. Unique as in it's so old, you won't be able, most likely, to find the exact item anywhere else.
Guys, I'm late to the party. Late because I almost missed this dress. Well, I already missed it online (how long has it been?), but I was very lucky to find it in store.
I needed some shoes for work, you know something different than sandals - it's so cold at work I don't wear any open-toe shoes. Our plan wasn't to step foot in Old Navy but it happened - it's like a magnet, if it's anywhere near me, you bet I'll go in there.
The ocean is part of the So Cal lifestyle, for those who live close to the coast, and for the people willing to get here.
We are lucky enough to be able to enjoy views like these any time we want - rain or sunshine, the ocean is waiting. Living in California has proven to be... interesting, but no matter what life here throws our way, the ocean makes it better. I can firmly say I will NEVER have enough of this, and it is one of the reasons why we decided to stick around, for now...
Sometimes, we end up driving around without any purpose, just cause we have no other ideas. So, we came across this huge bougainvillea bush and naturally, we had to stop to take pictures. I mean, look at those flowers and those colors, who can pass that?
Maxi dresses are a weakness of mine, well, dresses, in general.
I bought this one on asos.com about four years ago, and as soon as I saw it, I went crazy for it. True story!
Problem was, it was out of stock. I kept checking every day until one day, it was back in stock, in my size only. It was meant to be! I frantically ordered it, afraid I'd miss my chance again. Well, as you can tell, it worked out...
It is very lightweight and made of soft polyester, so it was made for hot summer days. And the bird of paradise print is gorgeous, in my opinion.
