5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here.

Well, it’s been a whirlwind of a week here with lots of things happening on the personal front, but we’re starting to see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. The important thing is that we’re feeling good about it, so this feeling will hold us through some intense and busy months ahead.

I’ve learned an important lesson this week, again, because it’s not a new one… Not closing the door on something you know doesn’t work for you, be it out of fear, comfort, or whatever other reason will hold you back, always… Have faith and close the darn door and watch a window open because it does, even if you can’t clearly see the picture at that moment.

Here are the 5 things that are bringing me joy this week:

  • The universe having our back… I’m not a religious person, however, I believe there is something out there “guiding” us through life with [little] signs here and there. We’ve intensely felt this guidance this past week, and that brings me comfort and joy.

  • Starting our day with a green smoothie consisting of a few frozen bananas, unsweetened oat milk (or any of your choice), and dehydrated barley grass powder. It guarantees that we get important nutrients and vitamins every day, and we’ve already noticed feeling more awake in the morning and less tired throughout the day. It also helped cut my coffee intake from 3 cups a day to 2… #smallsteps.

  • Our blender (also available here)… you know I had to, haha, but this appliance really brings me joy… For quickly and easily making hummus, smoothies, dips, and even ice cream, this blender has become indispensable to us.

  • Soaked almonds. I’m not a big breakfast person, and I usually eat it pretty late, if at all. Lately, I’ve been into soaking almonds overnight, removing the skins, and eating them the next day either for breakfast or as a snack — you should try it.

  • The “healthy” storm we got yesterday… did I mention that [non-destructive] storms bring me joy?

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
