5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

Time got away from me last week, and I ultimately decided to give myself a break. Remember that one of my “goals” for this year was to let go of feeling guilty when taking breaks… I took the break… and I’m still working on the guilt-free part. Anyway…

My break basically consisted of finishing a book I had trouble putting down (will share it in my month-at-a-glance blog post this upcoming Friday) and just taking it easy.

In other news, we had an amazing weekend. The weather was gorgeous, so we spent plenty of time outside and managed to squeeze in some shopping, as well. I scored a few good finds, but it was mostly my husband who came out the big winner.

Here are 5 things that bring me joy this week:

  • discovering a wildflower “meadow”. One thing I find sad about Florida is the lack of flowers, because, really, they’re pretty sparse around here (not to be confused with vegetation). This past weekend, however, we found a place with an abundance of them, and my joy was indescribable. I might have taken hundreds of photos of them and gotten a sunburn in the process… oops.

  • being surrounded by blooming orchids. I know, I know, gloating about my orchids again, but this list is about things that bring me joy, and they really do! Plus, they don’t last forever so I’m taking it in…

  • the nice and cool morning air. I like to open the doors and windows first thing when I wake up to allow the fresh air to come in, before the heat and humidity takes over. It just makes the start of my day better.

  • these gorgeous “oyster” earrings that are very similar to a pair I own and love! They’re so fun for the upcoming season (and so are these!)!

  • this year’s spring styles! They just inspire me! Side note: ah, do I love this shirtdress and I wish it wasn’t this short. Anyway… my Wishlist is only getting longer by the day… Am I the only one?

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
