The three products you need for good hair days

The three products you need for good hair days | Blooming Magnolias Blog
Once again I tried to grow my hair and ended up cutting it. I think that short hair is more of my style, especially because of the less time it takes to "maintain". Once it was cut, my hairdresser blew-dried and arranged it so it looked gorgeous for the rest of the day.
I wash my hair daily, so once the shower time came, I was excited for no more tangled mess my longer hair was. However, once I washed it, I got a little nervous. Short hair doesn't necessarily mean less time getting ready. I stopped blow drying my hair more than a year ago and I've noticed good changes. But a bob-like haircut takes a little more than just air-drying, if I am to avoid the frizziness. I still wanted to skip the blow-out, as well as the hair oils I was using to detangle it.
What I did instead,

My go-to drugstore makeup products

I don't enjoy putting on makeup; I'd rather sleep more than having to get up earlier to put "my face on". So why am I not skipping this step, you might ask? Well, because like most women, I try to hide dark under-eye circles, a pimple here and there, keep my oily skin under-control, and whatever else is going on.
However, I like my makeup light and natural looking, easy and relatively quick to apply. I have my tried-and-true products that I must always have and I use them everyday to make my life easier. Oh, and did I mention that I don't like spending a lot of money on makeup, so all these but two, are "drugstore" products and so, very affordable.

An honest Olay Regenerist review

An honest Olay Regenerist Review - Blooming Magnolias Blog
We all want to stay young. In fact, this desire of ours is so big, that there has been an entire industry created around it, just to slow it down, if not prevent it. Thousands of brands, millions of products, all promising that youthful look indefinitely. We all fall victims and keep searching for that miracle cream only to get disappointed over and over again.
I am no different. I have to admit I'm not looking forward to getting old, having wrinkles and having my body slow down. But, it is not something I can stop, so instead, I choose to take care of my skin and body now so it stays my friend years from now.
I think prevention is the best way to stop or delay certain things and I am all for fighting those wrinkles or any signs of them. It took me a while to understand that the skin around the eyes is the one in most need of special care - and let me tell you that I wasn't happy the day I noticed the lines forming. I had to act asap.
We all have seen the commercials for Olay Regenerist. And of course I fell for them and became one of the millions of women that bought the products and started using them rigorously, day and night. Did they work? Read on for my honest review...

Friday randoms: RawSugar natural products

Friday randoms: RawSugar natural products - Blooming Magnolias Blog
TGIF!
Today I thought of introducing you to a brand that I recently discovered and fell in love with, in case you haven't already found it yourselves.
Over a year ago, we made an effort to be more conscious of what we put inside and outside our bodies. We eliminated certain foods from our diet and turned to more natural products for body care. It's known that what we put on our skin and hair is absorbed into our bodies so we try to choose products with less harmful chemicals for better health and a better environment.
I have talked about other natural hair products I like in this post and while looking for body care I came across RawSugar. I immediately liked that they are sulfates, paraben, dyes, silicones and cruelty free and are made in Southern California. The facts that they are affordable and that they give back to people in need were huge pluses so I decided to give them a try. I'm so happy I did. I first tried their body wash and immediately fell in love. I can't stand artificial scents and perfumes and these smell like the real deal. My favorite - the lemon sugar body wash smells like fresh lemons and who doesn't like that? We also bought the almond and manuka honey and the green tea, cucumber and aloe body wash and both me and my husband use them now.
I was so happy to see that they came out with a hair care lines as well. I tried their Coconut and Raw Honey shampoo and conditioner, as well as their avocado hair masque and I have to say they did not disappoint. They smell so yummy and my hair felt so much softer and had added shine.
Have you heard of RawSugar or tried their products?

Latest face-mask finds

Latest face-mask finds - charcoal peel-off, charcoal and black sugar detoxifying face mask - Blooming Magnolias Blog
Skincare is my number one priority when it comes to beauty. I don't like wearing makeup but I do because I am a bit insecure about my skin and I have dark under-eye circles. However, I wear little foundation or only concealer and powder some days and that's because I try my best to take care of my skin. I don't spend a lot of money on it or buy fancy products, but I do follow a specific regimen and that seems to be working. Of course I have days when I fall off-the-wagon and skip some of the steps and that's when I notice a change for the worse.
One step that I do my best to incorporate at least once a week, no matter what, is a face mask.

Help... I'm obsessed with Hask Hair

Help... I'm obsessed with Hask Hair - Blooming Magnolias Blog
I have a problem and if the photo above doesn't speak about that than I don't know what does. But before you start thinking I'm crazy, let me explain.
First, it is necessary for me to mention that this post was born from the love I have for this brand and the fact that I want to share the good stuff I find with you.
I have had a long, tough at times, journey with my hair. I still have a love-hate sort of relationship with it.
I had it long (around my waist) years and years ago, before I cut it. Yes, I was sorry and yes, sometimes, I miss it.
The main reason I decided to cut my hair though was the split-ends. No matter what I was doing (cut it, condition it, apply treatments), the split-ends kept re-appearing, and let me tell you - nothing is more unsightly when it comes to hair than split-ends. And forget about growing it out.

My hair care routine

My hair care routine
Since I've put this post together, a major change occurred - I decided to cut my hair. Why? Well, because it's Spring. I crave for changes in Spring. Because my hair looked "tired" and took too much time to dry and style. Because the length (I usually keep it a little below my shoulders) was pulling any volume down, and what woman doesn't want volume in her hair?
No matter the change, my hair care routine has remained the same. And today I'm sharing my most-used hair products. I have to mention that this post is not sponsored, it truly speaks of products I use on a daily basis, from brands I really like. If you've been reading my blog, you must have noticed that I like being frugal, as in I like finding products that work and wouldn't break the bank, so the list presented here is very affordable but effective.
So let's get to it.
